At City of Refuge we have an appointed group of called intercessors who petition God on behalf of others around our nation, in our city, and in our state; our church leaders; the government; each other; the church; and the world. Our intercessors meet every Monday night @ 8 p.m. for one night of complete prayer. (Prayer night is closed to intercessors only.) We believe that intercessors answer the high calling of God according to II Chronicles 7:14, which states, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” We believe that intercessors also stand in the gap for others before God as according to Ezekiel 22:30, which states, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.“ This elite group of intercessors has a made a commitment before God to answer His calling and to remain faithful to pray and hear from God’s heart for His creation just as Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, did in earth (see Luke 17) and does in heaven unto the Father for all those who are His children in the earth until He returns (see Romans 8:34).
God’s word in Matthew 21:22 says, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, BELIEVING, ye shall receive.”
